Ko wai mātou · About us

Care that meets students where they are.

We're part of the Total Body Physio whānau — an Auckland practice caring for the community since 2000. Our school-based service means students don't need to travel to a clinic, miss half a day of class, or wait weeks for help. We assess and treat sports injuries, sprains and strains, growth-related pain and more, and we give students the tools to build strength, recover fully and prevent re-injury.

On-site

No travel needed

Appointments happen at school during the school day — students just pop over between classes or at lunch.

Fast

Seen sooner

Fresh injuries are triaged quickly. Early assessment means faster recovery and less time out of sport.

Connected

Working with your school

We work alongside sports coordinators, coaches and whānau so everyone's on the same page about recovery.

Hands-on treatment plus a rehab plan built around your sport, your season and your goals.

04

Back in the game

We guide safe return-to-play and give you an ongoing programme to stay strong and avoid re-injury.

Pātai · FAQs

Good questions.

Do I need a referral to see the physio?
No. Students can be seen without a GP referral. Just get in touch through your school's sports coordinator or health centre, or email us directly.
How much does it cost?
If the injury was caused by an accident (which covers most sports injuries), ACC usually funds treatment and we lodge the claim for you at the first visit. Email us if you'd like to check what applies to your situation before booking.
When is the physio at school?
We're on campus Monday to Friday, 9:00am–3:00pm, during school terms.
Can a parent or caregiver come along?
Absolutely — whānau are always welcome at appointments. For younger students we encourage it, and we're happy to email or call caregivers with a summary of the assessment and plan.
What should I bring or wear?
PE gear or clothing that lets us see the injured area (shorts for a knee or ankle, a singlet for a shoulder). Bring any relevant info — scans, letters, or details of previous treatment.
What if the injury happened outside school?
That's fine — we treat injuries wherever they happened, whether at club sport, at home or in the weekend. If it's accident-related it's usually still ACC covered.
What happens during school holidays?
Students can be seen free under ACC at any Total Body Physio clinic during the holidays — Pakuranga, Flat Bush, Titirangi or Panmure. Book at totalbodyphysio.co.nz, then pick up school-based care again when term starts.
What are my rights as a patient?
Every patient is protected by the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights. Read a plain-language summary on our Your Rights page, and see how we handle your health information in our Privacy Policy. If something doesn't feel right, our complaints process explains what to do.
